Location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital Wausau, WI

Position: Credentialing Specialist (1.0 FTE)

Conducts credentialing verification activities for customers of Northcentral Credentialing Servics. Northcentral Credentialing Service (NCS) is a centralized credentialing verification organization that provides credentialing services for affiliated hospital and healthcare entities. These credentialing services include hospital/facility credentialing and privileging, and Aspirus Network payor credentialing.

Coordinates accurate verification of provider files for initial appoitnment and for reappointment within established time frames in accordance with the standards required by the accredting/regulatory agencies. Providers include all physicians (MDs, DOs), mid-levels such as NPs and PAs, Clinical Social Workers, Therapists, and Locum Tenens providers.

Knowledge of credentialing standards and practices normally acquired through completion of an Associates degree preferred. Minimun of 2 to 3 years experience in a medical office environment preferred.

Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office preferred.

Communicates effectively (verbal and non-verbal skills) and works with others in a professional and comptetent manner.

Requires an individual who is self-motivated and directed and assumes responsibility and exercises authoritity over assigned work functions, is accurate and detail-oriented, posses ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, work with and maintain confidentiality, prepare enrollment applications, and examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
